INFORMATION
In 2016 “Entre Quijotes” was born, a play for children with mime-dance and acting based on the magical novel “Don Quijote de la Mancha” by Miguel de Cervantes.
Since its beginnings our company strongly believes in the importance of the development of imagination, primarily of children, through art.
Lasafueras/Andrea Catania and El Colectivo CLA/Adrián Arriaga, wanted to bring children closer to a masterpiece of deep transcendence in world literature, through playing and imagination.
Each person has something of “Quijote” inside of them. All of us are dreamers in one way or another, unhappy with our surroundings and we search, each in their own way, to change the world for better, according to our values and existential concerns.
That’s why said play is focused on the necessity of having MORE Quijotes, more dreamers that want to change the world, that want to add their grain of sand and build a better future.
During approximately 45-50 minutes, both performers take their audience to poetic and dreamy places in a magical journey, that invites to deepen in this wonderful literary work.
At the end of the play the performers realize a small workshop-game in which the children have the opportunity to dance, transform into and play next to the characters.
Target audience: Children between 4 and 10 years young.
This play was the winner of the PROARTES project in 2020, thanks to which I performed numerous functions in rural schools and communities affected by Hurricane Otto. In addition, this work has been presented at the Book Fair, Transitarte, International Festival of Arts, San Jose, Costa Rica, Camping, San Luis Potosi and Mazatlan Mexico, among others.
